Sreeleela

Sreeleela (who recently formally introduced herself as Dr. Sreeleela) is an American-born Indian actress and trained Bharatanatyam dancer who predominantly works in Telugu and Kannada cinema. Known for her infectious energy and remarkable dancing skills, she quickly rose to prominence to become one of the most sought-after leading ladies in South Indian films.

Her mother, Swarnalatha, is a gynaecologist based in Bengaluru.

Growing up in a family that valued both academics and the arts, Sreeleela developed a passion for Bharatanatyam, starting her training at a young age. This foundation in classical dance not only honed her artistic skills but also instilled discipline and grace — qualities that would later enhance her acting career.

Being from an orthodox family, it was initially hard for Sreeleela to get permission to act in movies. She always wanted to be a doctor, and she still focuses on that alongside her film career. 

Along with her acting career, she is also studying for a medical degree. She balances her demanding career with her academics through strict time management and discipline. Sreeleela made her acting debut in the 2017 Telugu film Chitrangada, portraying the younger version of Sindhu Tolani's character.

Acting Career

• Kannada Debut: Sreeleela made her official debut as a lead actress in the Kannada romantic comedy Kiss (2019). The film was a success, and her performance won her the SIIMA Award for Best Female Debut – Kannada.
• Telugu Debut and Breakthrough: She entered Telugu cinema with Pelli SandaD (2021). While the film received mixed reviews, her screen presence made her an instant sensation. Her major commercial breakthrough followed with the 2022 blockbuster Dhamaka, starring opposite Ravi Teja. Her energetic performance and phenomenal dancing in the film earned her the SIIMA Award for Best Actress – Telugu.
• Mainstream Success and Pan-India Expansion: Over the next few years, she became a staple in massive Telugu productions, starring alongside top-tier actors in films like Bhagavanth Kesari, Skanda, and Guntur Kaaram. In late 2024, her popularity surged across India due to her electrifying special dance number ("Kissik") in Allu Arjun's blockbuster Pushpa 2: The Rule. Capitalizing on this pan-Indian exposure, her 2025 and 2026 lineup includes her Tamil debut in Parasakthi alongside Sivakarthikeyan, an upcoming Tamil film alongside Ajith Kumar (AK64), and her highly anticipated Bollywood debut.
