Early Life and Career Beginnings

Born and raised in Delhi, Raashii initially had no aspirations of becoming an actress. During her childhood and college days, she actually wanted to become an IAS officer or a singer.

After completing her education, she briefly worked as a copywriter before stepping into the modeling world. She began doing various print shoots, ad commercials, and cover pages for prominent magazines. Her strong on-screen presence in these advertisements eventually caught the eye of Bollywood casting directors, which paved her way into the film industry. She has also pursued her early passion for singing by lending her voice to several tracks in her films.

Acting Career

• Bollywood Debut: Raashii made her acting debut in 2013 with a supporting role as Ruby Singh, an intelligence officer, in the critically acclaimed Hindi political spy thriller Madras Cafe, starring John Abraham.
• Telugu Debut and Stardom: She transitioned to Telugu cinema in 2014, making her debut as a female lead in the romantic comedy Oohalu Gusagusalade. The film was a major commercial success, and her performance earned her the SIIMA Award for Best Female Debut – Telugu. She quickly became a highly sought-after actress in Tollywood, delivering major hits like Supreme, Jai Lava Kusa, Tholi Prema, Venky Mama, and Prati Roju Pandage.
• Tamil Cinema and Pan-India Success: She made her Tamil debut with the 2018 psychological thriller Imaikkaa Nodigal. Over the years, she has delivered huge blockbusters in Tamil, including the Dhanush-starrer Thiruchitrambalam (2022), the spy-thriller Sardar (2022), and the horror-comedy Aranmanai 4 (2024).
• OTT Triumphs and Hindi Return: Raashii successfully broke into the Hindi OTT space starring alongside Ajay Devgn in Rudra: The Edge of Darkness (2022), and followed it up with a standout role as Megha Vyas in the blockbuster Prime Video series Farzi (2023).
